Nurse Practitioner - Monmouth Clinic
Scope of Work Responsibilities:
-
Elicit and record accurate health histories
-
Performs complete physical assessment of appropriate body systems utilizing mechanical methods and instruments; including but not limited to: otoscope, opthalmoscope, anoscope, stethoscope, and speculum
-
Interpret laboratory and X-ray results
-
Assesses social, cultural, and family histories
-
Utilizing written medical protocols and/or in consultation with collaborating physician, plans medical and nursing therapies
-
Differentiates between the normal and abnormal; initiates treatment and/or refers patients to specialist if required
-
Conducts screening for communicable diseases; provides follow-up assessment, documentation, evaluation, and reporting, if required
-
Trains, supervises, and teaches other staff members directly assisting the Nurse Practitioner
-
Provides community education as requested
-
Performs short-term patient counseling and/or refers to appropriate counseling service
-
Participates in continuing education and in-service programs
-
Performs related duties as assigned
-
Supports the on-going Performance Improvement/Risk Management program in order to maintain and improve the quality of patient care provided at EVCHS
-
Participates in EVCHS committees when requested
-
Provides after hours call per shared schedule and documents calls in patient record
Qualifications:
Work Experience:
-
Must have completed practicums as required by educational program.
Education:
-
Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
License/Certification
-
Illinois Nurse Practitioner license, or temporary license while awaiting Illinois license, controlled substance license, DEA registration.
