Director of IT & EHR

The Director of IT (Information Technology) & EHR (Electronic Health Record) aims to provide an integrated ecosystem of person-centered, data-driven applications designed to support a spectrum of healthcare services for all Eagle View Community Health System (EVCHS) patients. This job is a unique opportunity to serve in an executive leadership role to ensure the success of this healthcare technology initiative. EVCHS is committed to the creative and optimal use of technology, clinical practices, and project management needed to actualize the meaningful value of an EHR.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Under the general direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Director of IT & EHR provides executive and strategic leadership to direct, manage and support the Department of Information Technology (IT) and related projects with updated technology broadly supported by the industry

  • Recommends, develops, and administers the FQHC’s EHR applications and infrastructure and will direct the formulation and implementation of modern technology services to meet the future needs of the FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Center).

  • Responsible for the development of proposed policies and procedures related to the EHR while also determining the appropriate means of implementation and compliance of personnel

  • The Director of IT & EHR will, through partnership with diverse groups of leaders (clinical, administrative, and financial) and stakeholders, provide oversight of the EHR in support of the FQHC's goals and objectives

  • Accountable for all aspects of planning, staffing, training, and budget monitoring related to EHR

  • Works closely with executive leaders to carry out the project vision

  • Supervises the IT staff

  • Acts as the primary liaison between key legacy system staff, operational leadership, and the end-user community

  • Oversees the development of educational and training programs, and the development of

  • reporting functionality to support system live and post live activities

  • Oversee security of systems, networks, and enterprise information

  • Ensures a cohesive EHR deployment for the center

  • Establishes and sets expectations regarding activities and ensures adherence to departmental and federal regulations, policies, and procedures

  • Oversees the migration from NextGen and the implementation of Epic.

  

Qualifications 

  • BSC/BA in computer science, engineering, or relevant field preferred and at least 3 years of experience in EHR management along with a current Nextgen, EPIC, or another EHR certification or ability to obtain certification.

  • Experience in analysis, implementation, and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications.

  • Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc.,

  • Demonstrate resourcefulness and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrate project management skills

  • Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks

  • Excellent attention to detail
