School Based Health Center/Clinic Manager

The School Based Health Center/Clinic Manager manages the day-to-day operational activities of assigned Health Centers. S/he will support the mission, vision, and values of Eagle View Community Health System and will follow all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory standards.  

  

  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises the planning, assigning, and directing of School Based Health Center workflows.  

  • Serves as content expert for PSS duties including insurance, scheduling, billing.).  

  • Exemplifies youth-friendly and patient-centered care and trains SBHC staff on best practices in supporting youth in a school environment.  

  • Assists in developing and reviewing policies related to business operational support functions, including scheduling, registration, and eligibility screening.  

  •  Assists in monitoring flow of data collection, through patient access and registration, to support program and agency goals.  

  • Ensures the departments supervisors in scheduling all health center staff.  

  • Solve problems and handles daily provider/patient issues of concern to ensure optimal patient satisfaction including patient flow. Report key issues to the Director of Operations.  

  • Has a working knowledge of the Electronic Health Record System (EHR). Work with colleagues to resolve issues with EHR. Report major EHR issues to the IT specialist. Maintains an appropriate office environment.  

  • Ensure office equipment (including, but not limited to telephones, computers, fax machines, printers, copiers) are in working order. Arrange for immediate repair when necessary. Trains appropriate staff to use office equipment.  

  • Address patient issues that may arise. Follow grievance policies. Apprise CEO of all grievances and results.  

  • Communicate daily with the Director of Operations about operational issues including, but not limited to, productivity, safety, patient satisfaction, and quality.  

  • Evaluate Health Center facilities on a regular basis to ensure cleaning and maintenance of the facilities is accurate and all equipment is in working order. Arrange for immediate repair, when necessary, with School Maintenance.  Apprises Director of Operations of any significant issues.  

  • Consults with the Nurse Manager to ensure OSHA and other regulatory compliance.  

  • Participate in budget discussions and provides data to support budgetary decisions regarding assigned Health Centers.  

  • Provides support to the Director of Operations for reports, projects, schedules, and other relevant work products, as assigned.  

  • Stay apprised of health care trends and policy initiatives impacting delivery of school-based health care services at local, state, and national levels and educates staff regarding policy and process changes impacting health care services.  

  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with appropriate professional groups and organizations.  

  • Attend and participate in management team meetings and works cooperatively with all Organization staff to maximize service and reporting outcomes. Work with the management team in the development of long-range plans, service delivery model and other significant strategies and/or systems.  

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s and/or RN Degree Preferred  

  • Prior supervisory experience in a healthcare or social service agency strongly preferred.  

  

Competencies

 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to work with patient/students, parents/guardians, faculty, school staff, physicians and EVCHS (Eagle View Community Health System) staff.  

  • Ability to use computers and other electronic technology to enter data, receive, organize, prioritize, and transmit information in a timely manner.  

  • Experience in using Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.  

  • Comprehension of and appropriate use of medical terminology.  

  • Ability to implement and maintain compliance with organization policies and procedures and maintain compliance with established risk management and safety procedures including patient privacy and confidentiality through HIPAA.  

  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and new developments in health care delivery systems – including federal and state health care regulations.  

  • Familiarity with community healthcare delivery preferred.  

  • Expert knowledge in providing youth-friendly and trauma-sensitive care in a school environment.
